GameSyn is a community dedicated to the spirit of gaming and keeping gamers connected. GameSyn knows that you care about how your personal information is used and shared, and we take your privacy very seriously. Please read the following to learn more about our privacy policy. This Privacy Policy covers GameSyn's handling of personal information that is gathered during your visit to GameSyn or by the use of GameSyn services. This policy does not apply to the practices or services of third parties that GameSyn does not own or control, or individuals that GameSyn does not manage.

 

Information Collected by GameSyn

We only collect personal information that is relevant to the purpose of our website, which is to connect gamers, server owners and mod developers together. This information allows us to better serve you or provide you with a customized and efficient experience. We do not process this information in a way that is incompatible with this objective. We collect the following types of information:

  1. Information You Provide Us:

    We receive and store any information you enter on this website or provide to us in any other way. You do not have to provide us with certain information but then you may be limited to the services or features you can access.

    • Registration: In order to use GameSyn services, such as posting on our forums, you must complete a registration form. As part of this registration form, we require select personal information such as your email address or Steam ID.
    • User Profile: We allow you to set more ways than just the site as a way for other users to contact you. We enable you to store information such as messaging IDs, a bio, and additional information, including photos of yourself in your profile. Currently we have no way for you to set how your information is displayed and used.

  2. Automatic Information:
    • We receive and store certain types of information whenever you visit or interact with us. GameSyn and its authorized agents automatically receive and record certain "traffic data" on their server logs from your browser including your IP address, GameSyn cookie information and the page you requested. GameSyn uses this data to help diagnose problems, analyze traffic patterns and administer the website.
    • GameSyn may collect and, on any page, display the total counts that page has been viewed.
    • Many companies offer programs that help you to visit websites anonymously and hide any information such as cookies from the website. While GameSyn will not be able to provide you with a personalized experience if you use these programs, we want you to be aware that these programs are available.

 

Email Communications

GameSyn will never provide your email address to a third party without your explicit permission. GameSyn may send out emails with GameSyn-related news, system emails(e.g. forgotten user password emails) and legal notices (e.g. updates to our policies).

  • Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and tell us how and when pages in our website are visited and by how many people. GameSyn cookies do not collect personal information, and we do not combine information collected through cookies with other personal information to tell us who you are. We do, however, store your computer's timezone as specified by your browser to aid in displaying correct times to you across the site.
  • You can disable cookies by using the "help" portion of your browser to direct you to the appropriate setting. We recommend you keep cookies enabled to continue using GameSyn's features and services.

Keeping Information Secure

  • Your GameSyn account information is protected by a password for your privacy and security. Protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer by logging off once you have finished using a shared computer.
  • Only administrators who need personal information(e.g. to perform a specific job such as customer service) can access it.
 

Ways to Control Display and Use of Your Information

  • By visiting your User Profile, you can correct, amend, add or delete personal information on our website. We do not maintain any record of unrevised information in our system after you update it.
  • You may delete your account from GameSyn by visiting your User Profile and using the link and form located there. You will be asked to confirm the deletion of your account and given information pertaining to how your messages/content/interaction with the GameSyn website will be kept and stored.
 

Children Under 18 Years of Age

You must be 13 years and older to register to use the GameSyn website. As a result, GameSyn does not specifically collect information about children. If we learn that GameSyn has collected information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. We recommend that minors between the ages of 13 and 18 ask and receive their parents' permission before using GameSyn or sending information about themselves or anyone else over the Internet.

 

Changes to this Privacy Policy

GameSyn may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time, at its sole discretion. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected or used.
