Hey, Get Those Health Packs!!! (+2
)
This is one of those games that are ment to be scary but didn't really cut it for me, The models didn't look gruesome or menacing in my opinion. Though this game is great fun if you find ways to challange yourself such as trying to beat everyone up with a flashlight, it's also great fun when things jump out at you. The one things that keeps me happy with this game is the unexpected events that take place, I love the sear amount of them everywhere unfortunately they are all event based. I remember there was one part of the game were there was a stash of health packs and MG magazines hidden behind a what looked like a computer server, of course not needing it at the time I left it and continued on and later backed up to pick them up, to my suprise I got jumped by Imps. Though I know it makes me sounds jumpy but I hadn't expected it but enjoyed it. The graphics for this game is one of the best of it's time, though I didn't enjoy the models much I have to agree that it is nice and fits quite well with the environment and theme of Doom. Sounds...I hated the weapon sound effects they were extremely bad in my opinion (the MG sounded like a staple gun to me), other then the enemy sound effects I have to say I don't like it except the sounds of the flashlight connecting with the skull of an enemy. For me theres hardly a replay value that goes beyond playing the game for a second time and limiting myself to less powerful weapons and creating more of what I would call a Fun Factor. Overall This game is "Fun" but it goes bitter in the not to distant future, due to everything being event based and no free AI encounters.
