Get To The Chopper!!! (+3Small-thumbs-up)

Reviewing this game is a risk I'm gonna take, if I get steamrolled so be it. L4D probably one of the most popular and fanatic creating games thats been released recently. When it was first annouced like most of the steam community I was instantly intrigued, and waited for the chance to try the demo. When I was finally able to play the demo I was only drawn in more then before, and having friends who use their mics make it even better. Unfortunately for me when the full game was released the thrill and challenge of the game lasted only roughly 1 month tops, I really wanted to keep myself interested in L4D but that just couldn't happen. Everything just started to become repetitive and things that were ment to surprise me didn't anymore tanks became easy kills and a witch was a traffic light. Not to say I never had fun playing this game but I just can't get exicted about this game no more, I fear to say this but it's become to easy.

Now on to ratings, The gameplay in L4D is very straight forward "Get from point A to point B" which is great and what makes it better is that the maps are relatively free roamed. Theres a large amounts of routes you can take to reach your destination which is one of the many features of L4d that I enjoy. Unforunately the actual zombies don't really pose much of a threat in my opinion, the only times I see players die to reg zombies is lack of teamwork. The boss zombies are a nice touch and I love the different dynamics of each but their tactics are to limited for my tastes I expected them to add more attack patterns to them in their updates. So for me at least this game became bluntly a "Swing Swing Fire" to me where due to there being no AI changes, my tactics needed no changes as well. Graphics are top notch with details that are just good enough without going over board and even allows my ancient single core desktop to play it on mid range settings. I'm very happy that this was one of the many games that have been released lately that my desktop is able to play without problems other then a slower map loading time, unlike games such as Assassin Creed which I had to install on my alternate dual core desktop to play without a hitch. O the sounds yeah I enjoy the default sounds alot and they have a great sound track and it's one of the things I wouldn't want them to change and have no complaints about whatsoever. Theres a definate Replay value to L4D with the majority of zombie encounters to be almost completely random with the exceptance of some event based encounters which don't effect the gameplay at all. Having said that I still stick with my opinion that L4D is damn fun but it's not something that can keep your attention, mainly because the Devs haven't brought enough updates to change or to raise the difficulty of the gameplay. This game is inarguably Fun but like I said previously it doesn't stay fun long enough and their not doing enough with it. Overall in my opinion this game is a must play for all it's definately a great game no matter how negative some of my comment in my review but theres a huge amount of improvement that I haven't seen then touch. In my mind this is like elementary version of a zombie game, It has every basic element in the formula to make something great but theres to many holes in it to take it beyond Great

Looking forward to trying L4D2 and hoping they can make me eat my words, I want them to prove me wrong in thinking that it's just a huge update with a "$" tag attached to it.
