In my firm opinion and in the opinion of many another of my fellow Gsyner as well of most others who play on the TF2 server, the arena-ness of the server is causing a moderate amount of discontent within the populace. It also does not seem attract players. This and the other prevalent issues can easily solved by returning the server to it's previous state.
Yeah +1 agree. I mean I love arena every once in awhile, but I prefer all game modes because of more variety.

What are you guys talking about? It's bringing more attention than it used to. I've seen the server fill itself, without having to sit in it alone for 4 minutes.
And Weirdsnake, you were there when the server jumped from 6 to full in only one round. You've seen what "Arena Only" in the title can do.
I was talking to Skulky about it last night and I think that's the same issue with everyone posting here.
It's a moral issue.
I told both Skulky and Fred last night that I'd gladly change the map to whatever they wanted and they both didn't give me a specific answer, but any admin will be able to change the map if it's unanimous within the server. It says "Arena Only" on the title only to hook in more players (which *does* work). All the maps are still in the server list and admins can easily switch to any map as long as the majority of the server agrees.
The thing now it to give admin back to you guys.
The server is not going to be Arena Only as long as the admins are active and they want to play a different style map.
Don't sweat it. When the admins have their powers back, the server may say "Arena Only" but it won't be arena 24/7. (Arena Only) is just to hook players.
Maybe the server jumped from 6 to full because people were playing? In my experience with 15 people on the server probably 7 left when it changed to Arena. And when Weedman changed it to a different level people joined, it consistently did that for maybe 10 rounds.
Well the fact of the matter is, it's nearly always empty whenever i check it if there's not a group of us playing in it. Which is not much of a difference at all from when it wasn't 24/7 Arena.
arena is a turn off to large amount of people because of the waiting and most of the people who play on server have Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder so they leave if people want to play arena let them rtv
Yes, it was always empty without any of us playing in it. That's the reason we are trying this out with an arena rotation server (it's not 24/7 arena).
You're being impatient. This is a brand new change, don't expect immediate results.
We'll see how it goes for the first month or so.
I used to, but I can't anymore because I don't have access to a gaming computer for the entire week. Seeing as how the server is empty for most of the week none of you are trying to fill up the server by waiting for others to join. So we're trying to fill up the server with a different method.
This is not uncommon. They joined the server on that map for that play. When the map changed to a different style of play that kind of thing happens. It happened on the first Hyrule server too. Do your remember how many players bailed when the map changed to PLR. Or how about when players joined on Dustbowl and then left when the map changed to Well? This happens all the time.
When the players join with the intent to play arena then that won't happen as much. Something that I've seen playing the arena only rotation for the past week.
Am I have no memory?
