GameSyn - Topic Steam slowing down entire computer

Basically as the title says whenever I try to launch steam it lately seems to just freeze up my computer. It was after I installed playxpert so I uninstalled that yet the problem persists.

Specs:
4gb of ram ddr2
amd antholon 3800+
nvdia evga 7950 GTKO

What's odd is that it just came up for no reason I think I might try to uninstall steam and reinstall it. But I need to backup all the files on my external hard drive.

Tue, 05 Aug 2008 Mr_Internet member Posts: 939	7 I already had to format my comp because I had a registry error that I couldn't fix that made my computer keep restarting. So I'm going to reinstall steam tonight and see how that goes.
