Well, it seems like everyone is getting a new PC. So, I've been planning this for awhile now. In my case, money is certainly an object. Some parts I've selected I want to last long (i.e. case, power supply). Also, the case, power supply, and video card are already purchased. I'm posting this to see if everything is compatible and capable of running Source and COD4 well.

You wouldn't believe how much better this build is than my current computer...

You're joking when you asked if this would run Source, right? You'll rape source on high settings. It's better than my current pc. Most mods you should get around 100-150 fps, though frequently you WILL jump up to 200+. ^_^ (of course, you'll always run into an _occasional_ drop below 100, though no worries.)

No, I wasn't because I'm so used to having 20-30 fps on all source games (going down to 2 when there is a lot of people in one area). But I'm really happy to hear this.

Yeah, looks like a bad ass rigg. The only thing I can see better would be a higher-end vidcard, but the one you have selected is a trooper. I have an 8600GT (with 512mb) and it works perfectly on source. Very very good buy for the price these days.

Couldn't agree more. But the video card was a birthday present so I'm not going to not use it. I mean, I just wanna play TF2 without lagging up a storm!

OMG!: I think I caught something wrong! The motherboard says it supports DDR 2 800 ram while the ram I selected was 675 or something (not 800). I assume those have to be the same! /facepalm

Here is the new ram

Not really. Most motherboards that support DDR2 800 still support 667 which is a backwards compatible thing. It's better to get DDR2 800 RAM though for best performance and for best compatibility.

You just can't mix and match DDR, DDR2 and DDR3

Ok, thanks a lot. This should all be ready by August 15th (next local LAN).
