Awesome, is this offical or just fans doing it?

How is this mod coming along or does anyone know? I have a VS: Source icon they could use that I made for gamesyn since I knew this mod was being made.

STATUS REPORT :: January 25th, 2007 - Dmitri

Just a quick little update regarding our development status. Firstly, we're still here and the project is still going. I apologize for no updates, but would like to say that Bloodthirst is still in development. Secondly, we're very short of developers right now as we've lost most of our team over the last few months due to individual issues, people joining professional game developers, people moving abroad and so on, so right now we're understaffed and development has slowed down as a result, but has not stopped. I get the idea that VS: Source is moving along a little better than BloodThirst or so I hope.

Valve said it best for any mod teams. "Release early, release often."

It seems like this mod just started a few months ago so yeah it's gonna be a long while before it's actually released(anyway this is the same case in zps they've been in devolpement for 3-4 years and still no open beta)

I knew ZPS was in development for around 2 years but didn't know it was longer. From the forum threads I read on BloodThirst people were saying that had been working on it for 2 years and a dev said they had lost 5 coders in 2 years and these posts were August of 2006.

And yes Valve did say that or at least their dev wiki has that for all mod teams to look at and its a very true statement. People get bored with mods, developers get bored with mods unless there is something to play. You can't satisfy gamers with screenshots or media pictures or even videos. Give us something we can play, even if it means we are alpha testing, beta testing or whatever. If you release early and often then a) your game architecture is correct b) you will keep people interested c) you will be ahead of all other mods that don't release anything playable

If you don't release early and often you're slowly digging yourself a grave. If your game cannot be released after each milestone you're building a broken mod and are not following sound game design.
